The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington gives children and teens a positive and structured place to spend their afternoons and summer. The clubs provide fun, exciting activities that meet the needs and interests of young people. Clubs offer youth a place to call their own where they can feel comfortable with their peers. At the same time, young people can develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s world through educational programs designed to improve performance at school and help them develop a love of learning. Boys & Girls Club staff members provide positive adult guidance, modeling respect and how to be responsible, contributing members of society.
Boys & Girls Clubs are located in four Vancouver neighborhoods: The Clinton & Gloria John Clubhouse in Hazel Dell, the O.K. Clubhouse & Teen Turf Club in the Bagley Downs neighborhood, the Fruit Valley Club in the Fruit Valley neighborhood and the newest site at Washington Elementary in the Rose Village neighborhood.
Educational and fun activities are offered after the school day at several district schools. Parents and students can choose from a variety of options including year-round programs such as Boys and Girls Clubs or weekly enrichment sessions such as chess club or science camp.
