September/October 2014

Several runners for Thomas Jefferson made big improvements over the course of the season (from “back of the pack” at the start of the season to “front of the pack” by the district meet). The athletes worked hard on improving personal records rather than winning, which contributed to overall team success. Jefferson students approached the district meet with the intention of having a good time and improving, and ended up with a first-place trophy. This is a tight knit and supportive group that supports one another. New friendships were made by incorporating two students from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics and a private school. Jefferson’s cross country team is a competitive-minded group that pushes themselves hard in practice, and then participates in various other sports afterward.
