What do you get when you add four young math aces to one dedicated teacher and multiply by the state Math is Cool competition? Answer: A first place in the Division I team category for Jason Lee Middle School students Leanne Pham, Larry Huang, Ryan Welch, and Lu Abuizzah, coached by Jason Lee math teacher David Tubb.
The competition was held on May 16 in Moses Lake, Washington.
Welch and Abuizzah also placed, respectively, second and sixth in the individual category.
