Harney Elementary School and Vancouver Home Connection have been named 2014 Schools of Distinction for showing sustained improvement in reading and math over a five-year period. Harney also received the award in 2013.
The schools are two of only eight schools in the Educational Service District 112 region and 101 schools in the state to earn this award, given to the top 5 percent of schools statewide that have shown improvement.
The award is given by The Center for Educational Effectiveness in partnership with the Association of Educational Service Districts, the Association of Washington School Principals, Washington Association of School Administrators, Washington State School Directors’ Association and Washington State Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
