Diana Avalos Leos, FCRC, Fort Vancouver High SchoolFamily-community engagement coordinator for FCRC secondary schools

Years with VPS: 14

Most memorable career experience: The 2011 presidential executive order that granted millions of undocumented youth the opportunity to apply for deferred action for childhood arrivals, giving them a chance to receive two-year work permits and leverage opportunities to achieve post-secondary/technical careers.

One thing I’ve learned: Every day is an opportunity to learn and empower students to achieve optimal success.

A few words that describe me: Energetic, get this done.

When I’m not working, I: Enjoy running. On Saturday mornings, I usually like to run 10 miles; it helps me clear my mind and realign.

Diana advises Fort Vancouver High School’s Adelante club, which recently completed translation projects.
