VPS employees who belong to Service Employees’ International Union, Local 925, donated approximately 400 pounds of food and hygiene items for the district’s Family-Community Resource Centers.
“We know the kids do not always get the things that they need,” said Ray Fross, who works in the mechanical maintenance division of the district’s maintenance department. So SEIU members sprang into action. Fross, Julio Valencia, Craig Witt, Caleb Connolly, Ricardo Balenbin, Joe Siler and Dan Gregory coordinated a drive to collect items and built a box to deliver the donations.
The items will go to students and families at Lieser School and Fir Grove/Vista.
