  • Attendance matters

We want to see your child every day that school is in session. At our school, learning begins as soon as the bell rings and continues throughout the entire day. That’s why it’s important for students to arrive on time.

We encourage you to make sure your child arrives at school a few minutes early, but no later than 8:20 a.m., so that he or she has enough time to store their belongings, settle in and start learning when school begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.

If your child arrives after the bell rings, please walk him or her into the main office so that we know they have arrived. This year, an arrival up to 30 minutes after the bell rings will be marked as a tardy. An arrival more than 30 minutes after the bell rings will be counted as an absence for first period.

Please contact the school if you know in advance that your child will be late or absent or if you need to excuse a tardy or absence.

Parents and families can make a difference in school attendance. Establishing a routine is the key to getting to school on time and ensuring good attendance. Schools can help students and families who are unable to get to class on time or attend regularly. Contact the office staff or a Family-Community Resource Center coordinator for more information.
