Availability

Facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and as school schedules permit. Requests for rentals open to the public on July 1 for reservations for the following school year. Gym rental requests begin August 15, 2021 for the following school year. Field rentals are coordinated through the Clark County Sports Council.

Insurance

Depending on the nature of the rental, the district reserves the right to require proof of insurance coverage of $1,000,000 in combined single limits for bodily injury and property damage.

Cancellations, no-use days

District events and student activities take precedence and may result in no-use dates listed for on-going community rentals. Due to the nature of school activities, VPS reserves the right to cancel use without prior notice, although all attempts will be made to prevent cancellations. In the event of weather-related cancellations, renter will have the choice of a refund or an agreement extension.

Staffing requirements

Custodians are required to be on site for all hours during contracted activities and as needed for additional clean up. Depending on the event, district security staff may also be required. During times when staff are on not on regular duty, hourly staffing fees are charged to the renter to offset the added overtime expense. Other staff fees may also apply for use of auditoriums, kitchens, etc. Please see the Facility Rentals Guide for fee information, or General Guidelines for more information about facility rentals.

Supervision

Supervision by a responsible adult (21 years or older) is required in all accessible areas of the building.
