School district employees, students, families and community members will have an opportunity to learn about the semi finalist candidates for Vancouver Public Schools’ next superintendent. A webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. will allow the public to view candidates’ responses to interview questions.

- 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Dr. Karen D. Cheser, superintendent, Fort Thomas Independent Schools, Fort Thomas, KY
- 6:40 p.m. – 7:10 p.m.: Dr. Jeff Snell, superintendent, Camas School District, Camas, WA
- 7:20 p.m. – 7:50 p.m.: Dr. Kenneth (Chris) Hurst, superintendent, Othello School District, Othello, WA
- 8 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Dr. Héctor Rico, director of diversity, equity and inclusion, Pacific Collegiate School, Santa Cruz, CA
Candidates will respond to a set of questions in a forum-style interview. The webinar will be facilitated by Travis Boeh, co-president of the Vancouver principals’ association and principal at McLoughlin Middle School. The event will be recorded and posted on the district’s website.
Interpretation in Spanish, Russian and American Sign Language will be provided.
After the webinar, viewers may provide their feedback on the candidates by completing an online form. The feedback forms must be submitted by Feb. 23 for consideration by the board.
The board plans to select two finalists and then conduct in-person interviews of those candidates.
