Vancouver Public Schools received a clean audit report for the 10th consecutive year. The official audit released by the Washington State Auditor’s Office evaluates the integrity of district financial statements, internal controls and compliance with state and federal laws and grant funding requirements. There were no findings of deficiencies or formal recommendations for improvement.

School Board President Mark Stoker said, “In Vancouver Public Schools, good stewardship of public funds is a priority and this audit report reinforces this.”

The audit period was from Sept. 1, 2014, through Aug. 31, 2015.

“The district has a culture of accountability, and makes system-wide commitment to meet the demanding and frequently changing regulatory standards. Our success is due to the highly trained, diligent employees at all levels of this organization,” said Brett Blechschmidt, chief fiscal officer.
