During the strike:
- Sports practices will continue as scheduled.
- Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium centers located on school grounds will operate as normal.
- Students enrolled at Cascadia Tech Academy, operated by Evergreen Public Schools, are also closed due to the teacher strike in that district.
Vancouver Public Schools and Vancouver Education Association will be negotiating tomorrow, August 30. VPS is committed to continuing to negotiate in good faith as often and long as needed to bring an end to the strike and begin the school year. Our common goal is to provide a high-quality education to the students of Vancouver Public Schools.
