We are pleased to inform you that teachers at Fruit Valley Community Learning Center, Washington Elementary, McLoughlin and Discovery middle schools and Vancouver iTech Preparatory are the first in the state who will use IBM’s Watson Classroom. This dynamic new software understands natural language, reasons, and learns to assist educators in supporting all students.

Watson Classroom is an IOS app that helps teachers make learning more personal and relevant for each student. The app has two components: Watson Element and Watson Enlight. They are powerful, web browser-based tools.

Watson Element provides key insights about each student—strengths, challenges, optimal learning styles, and more. Often, this information is stored in a variety of places that are not always easily accessible to teachers. With Element, a click of a button allows teachers to look at each student’s progress, personal interests and accomplishments.

Watson Enlight helps teachers closely monitor the learning cycle so that they can intervene early with targeted assistance when necessary. Enlight provides teachers a comprehensive view of academic progress along with resources to support each student’s growth. This tool can expand over time as Vancouver Public Schools adds its own resources to the Enlight library.

The teachers at these schools are excited to pilot this emerging technology giving all of our students personalized learning experiences that prepare them to thrive in our globally connected economy and community.

Fruit Valley Community Learning Center, Washington Elementary, McLoughlin y Discovery middle schools y Vancouver iTech Preparatory y “ VPS” exploran una nueva tecnología

IBM «Watson»: www.ibm.com/watson/education.
