Gaiser Middle School science teacher Charlene Shea was recently recognized as a 2017 Golden Apple Moments award winner by Seattle PBS station KCTS 9 and PEMCO Insurance. Dr. Shea was honored for her tireless efforts to inspire and challenge the young people of Gaiser Middle School. Through their work in conservation and the environment, Shea and her students have led Gaiser Middle School in achieving several Washington state Green Schools Awards and the national Green Ribbon School Award given by the U.S. Department of Education.
