Minnehaha Elementary teacher Amy Cameron was named K103 Portland’s Educator of the Week for the first week in October.
She was nominated by fellow kindergarten teacher April Stenger, who wrote, “Amy is dedicated to her students. Her goal is to help every kindergarten child in her class feel loved, safe and successful.”
Said Cameron, “I want parents to know that my job is not just a job to me. I call students in my class ‘my kids’ because I care about them and want the best for them. I want parents to also know that we are in this together! When we work together, students will be much more successful in and out of the classroom.”
As Educator of the Week, Cameron received a $103 gift card for classroom supplies, the Crystal Apple Award and eligibility to win a Concordia University continuing education scholarship. She also was honored on air on Oct. 7.
