We love providing nutritious meals to our students all year long, but during March we get to celebrate it!

All of the breakfasts and lunches we serve are designed to meet nutrient standards based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and recommendations of the Institute of Medicine. Under these science-based standards, our school meals reflect appropriate balance between food groups, low-fat dairy, lean proteins, whole grains and unlimited servings of fruits and vegetables.

How do you celebrate National Nutrition Month? What does nutrition mean to you?

Let us know! Email your favorite recipe to Nutrition.Services@vansd.org by March 31. Tell us about the recipe and what nutrition means to you.

Nutrition doesn’t just mean calories or grams of fat. Nutrition can be measured in giggles around the dinner table or a memory that’s recalled when you smell a familiar family recipe.

Your recipe and entry might be featured in a future menu!
