Western Washington University honored its outstanding graduates for the 2014-15 academic year at its spring commencement. Among the honorees was Hannah Ricker, who graduated from Skyview High School in 2011. Ricker is the outstanding graduate of the Department of Finance and Marketing and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. During her time at Western, Ricker dedicated herself to the local community, serving as a campus tour guide and working at a locally owned clothing store.
Ricker had the opportunity to spend part of her senior year studying abroad in Spain on a scholarship. After graduation, Ricker aspires to work at an advertising agency in the field of digital marketing, particularly in the areas of search engine optimization and interactive strategy.
Faculty members from dozens of academic departments and programs each selected one student to honor as the outstanding graduate of the year. Selection is a high honor based on grades, research, writing, service to the campus and community and promise for the future.
