Washington state is in Phase IB, Tier 1 of its vaccination schedule. This includes people who are 65 and older, and people who are 50 and older who also live in a multigenerational household. School employees are included in Phase IB, Tier 2 and 4. The start date for vaccinating people in Tiers 2 and 4 hasn’t been announced, and it is dependent on vaccine supply.

Here is some general information.

Vaccines are distributed and become available by the state you live in, state where you work, and/or through your healthcare provider.

VPS is following all safety recommendations from CCPH and Washington State Department of Health. For more information, go to CCPH or DOH.

To date, VPS has had 52 positive cases among staff and students. Based on interviews with those affected, 48 of those cases had a source of transmission that was unrelated to their school or building. Research and data have indicated that schools do not contribute significantly to the spread of COVID-19 in communities when the recommended safety protocols are in place.
