Vancouver Public Schools families and the community have access to a variety of online resources to stay informed about students’ education and the district. Here you can find general information about Skyward Family Access, Parent Access, paying fines and fees and the district’s mobile app. We hope you’ll use these resources frequently!

Skyward Family Access and Parent Access FAQs

To sign up for VPS Parent Access and Skyward Family Access, please go to your child’s school. You must present photo identification in order to receive an authorized login and password. If you have children at more than one school, you will need to apply at only one school office.
The VPS Parent Access and Skyward Family Access login pages both have “Forgot password?” links that lead to the Skyward “Forgotten login/password assistance” page. Here you can enter your email address and have your password sent to you. Please note that once you complete this process and follow the instructions in the email, you should regain instant access to Skyward. However, your access to Parent Access will take an additional business day to be restored. If you don’t have a current email address in the system, see the last question for additional instructions.
VPS Parent Access and Skyward Family Access share the same username and password. Once you have visited your child’s school to apply for an account, you can manage your password from within Skyward. Click on the “Account info” link in the upper-right corner. You then can change your password or email address using the links on the right. (Note that password changes will take a day to be effective in the VPS Parent Access. See the next question for more details.)
VPS Parent Access and Skyward Family Access are complimentary but separate computer systems that would normally require you to have separate accounts. We know that maintaining more than one account can be cumbersome, so for your convenience your Skyward Family Access account information is synced with Parent Access. This process happens nightly, so changes you make to your Skyward Family Access account will not show up in your Parent Access account until the next day, including password changes.
Yes. All employees who also are parents should use their Skyward staff username and password to access both Skyward Family Access and Parent Access (there no longer is a separate account just for your parent role). Also note that if you are at work, you must log out of the VPS staff portal before you can log into Parent Access—otherwise you won’t see your student’s info!
If you have worked through the questions above but still can’t get into Skyward Family Access or Parent Access, please check the following:

  • Did you request an account at least a week ago? (Processing new requests can sometimes take up to one week.)
  • Is your student still enrolled in Vancouver Public Schools? (Accounts are automatically disabled when your child leaves the district.)
