Skyview High School seniors Annika Epperly and Ojasvi Kamboj were named the winners of the 2018 Congressional App Challenge for the 3rd Congressional District in November. Inspired by their love of animals, the pair built their app, Fin-damentals of Fish Care, in an after-school science research class taught by Heather Davis.

Both Kamboj and Epperly are students in Skyview High School’s Science, Math and Technology magnet program. Their app also won first place at the Southwest Washington Science and Engineering Fair, and last spring the duo earned recognition from the Oregon and Southwest Washington regional affiliate of the National Center for Women and Information Technology.

In addition, Epperly is a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.

Their victory in the Congressional App Challenge also extends Skyview’s winning streak. Last year, three students claimed the same title for their disaster-preparedness app.
