On March 8, more than 200 elementary and middle school students from Oregon and Southwest Washington, including 17 from Vancouver Public Schools, competed in the regional History Bee held at Columbia River High School.
After three rounds of questions about U.S. and world history, four VPS students earned spots in the top eight and qualified for the National History Bee in Atlanta, Georgia, in June:
Elementary division (fourth through sixth grades)

- Jo’siah Osburn, Walnut Grove Elementary School
- Alexander Smith, Thomas Jefferson Middle School
Eighth-grade division
