1956

Hudson’s Bay High School opened Feb. 3, 1956, to become the second high school in Vancouver School District. At that time, the name of the one and only Vancouver High School was changed to Fort Vancouver High School.

2013

An increase in state funding allows the district to offer free full-day kindergarten at all 21 of its elementary schools for the 2013-14 school year. In prior years, free full-day kindergarten was offered at select schools with high numbers of students living in poverty. In addition, tuition-based kindergarten programs were offered at some schools.
