Important immunization update: A new state law revises immunization requirements for measles, mumps and rubella.
As of July 2019, a new law removes the personal and philosophical option to exempt children from the MMR vaccine required for school and child care attendance. Medical and religious exemptions are not affected by this new law. You can find more information about immunization requirements at www.doh.wa.gov/SCCI.
All student attending Vancouver Public Schools during the 2019-20 school year must meet current immunization requirements or obtain a legal exemption. Many local clinics and events offer immunizations.

As of July 28, 2019, a new state law removes the personal and philosophical option to exempt children from the MMR vaccine required for school and child care attendance. Medical and religious exemptions are not affected by this new law.
Based on this new law, parents who have filed a personal or philosophical exemption will need to provide updated immunization paperwork on or before the start of the 2019-2020 school year, which is Aug. 27. Children without two doses of MMR vaccine, laboratory evidence of immunity, or a medical or religious exemption will not be allowed into school. Desde el 28 de julio de 2019, una nueva ley estatal eliminó la opción personal y filosófica de eximir a niños de la vacuna contra el sarampión, las paperas y la rubéola (MMR, por sus siglas en inglés), la cual se requiere para poder asistir a las escuelas y centros de cuidado infantil. Las exenciones por motivos médicos y religiosos no se encuentran afectadas por la nueva ley.
De acuerdo a esta nueva ley, los padres de familia que hayan presentado una exención personal o filosófica, necesitan proveer documentación de vacunación actualizada antes del día de inicio de clases del año escolar 2019-2020, que es el 27 de agosto. Los niños que no hayan obtenido dos dosis de la vacuna MMR o que tengan prueba de inmunidad de laboratorio o exenciones por razones médicas o religiosas NO tendrán permiso para ingresar a la escuela. С 28 июля 2019 года новый закон штата исключил личные и философские причины из числа оснований для отказа прививать детей вакциной MMR (против кори, паротита, краснухи – КПК), обязательной для посещения школ и дошкольных учреждений. На медицинские и религиозные основания для отказа этот новый закон не влияет.
В соответствии с этим новым законом родителям, которые предоставили документ с отказом от вакцинации по личным или философским соображениям, необходимо предоставить обновлённую справку об иммунизации не позднее начала 2019–2020 учебного года, который начнётся 27 августа. Дети, не имеющие двух прививок вакциной MMR (КПК), лабораторного анализа, подтверждающего наличие иммунитета к этим заболеваниям, медицинских или религиозных оснований для отказа от вакцинации, к занятиям в школе допущены не будут.
