Ashlye Triebs, a senior at Columbia River High School, has been selected as one of only two students from Washington State to participate in the U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP)!
Ashlye is a passionate advocate for boosting civic engagement and voter registration, especially among young people in our area. Through her dedicated volunteer work at local events, she has helped register over 150 new voters.
On December 16th, the Association of Washington Student Leaders and Association of Washington School Principals visitedColumbia River High School to surprise Ashlye and celebrate her achievement with a plaque.
In March, she’ll travel to Washington, D.C. for a week, where she’ll meet U.S. senators and government leaders, connect with the USSYP cohort, and learn more about how the government works. She’ll also receive a scholarship to use towards the college or university of her choice.
Congratulations, Ashlye!
