In its inaugural season, Skyview High School’s Project Unify Team took second place at the state basketball tournament in Wenatchee, Washington, on Feb. 28 after winning the local tournament in February. Team members are Lauren Croft, Sarah Cash, Chase Dodge, Nathanael Moore, Noah Narayan, Benjamin Ritter, Myron Williams and Dallon Zinszer. Learning Support teachers Brennan Young and Melissa Trammell coach the team.
Project Unify, affiliated with Special Olympics, gives students with special needs the opportunity to participate in athletics while building relationships with fellow student mentors who assist in the games. This is the project’s first year in Southwest Washington.
